It does not require
saying that YouTube has become the biggest social platform for global creators
from different fields and industries. Good news for them as the platform has
recently launched a new feature titled ‘Go Live Together’ that can improve the
live streaming experience for both the creators and viewers on the
platform.
This latest feature will
help the creators go live on YouTube directly from smartphones where they are
able to invite a guest and go live together. This feature is great for
collaborative projects among the creators so they are able to ‘co-livestream’
videos. YouTube tweeted about this new feature which mainly aimed to empower
the content creators on the platform. The platform also assured that this
feature will be soon available for desktop users as well but for now, the phone
is the only device for it. So, the creators can go live and collaborate at any
time and from anywhere.
The tweet by YouTube
reads, “Grab a friend & start a co-stream! Introducing Go Live Together, a
new way to easily start a co-stream & invite a guest, all from your phone!”
However, the platform also made it clear that “creators need 50+ subs to host
co-streams, but anyone can be a guest!”
Now the biggest question
is, how to use this ‘Go Live Together’ feature
by YouTube?
YouTube’s latest ‘Go
Live Together’ feature is available for both Android and iOS users. Get to know
how to use it by following a few simple steps.
·
The 'Go Live Together' option appears in the Create section
which is just below the ‘Go Live’ button on the mobile application of
YouTube.
·
You can send out the link to invite other guest creators to your
stream
·
You can directly ‘Go Live Together’ from anywhere you want or
you can schedule your stream from your desktop and it will begin timely.
·
You can invite multiple guests to the stream and also can switch
among them. However, the system only allows having only one co-host in their
live stream at once. The stream feed will show the active guests or the queue
of guests.
‘Go Live Together’ is
not very different from the basic ‘Go Live’ feature but you need to constantly
monitor your stream feed and keep good communication with the guest creators
which makes your stream more entertaining to watch. Through this feature, you
will also be able to tap into guests’ live viewer base.
Can
this ‘Go Live Together’ feature benefit the struggling creators on the platform?
Well, YouTube’s primary
goal was that only. The platform is getting bigger and bigger with a huge
number of emerging creators and viewers on the platform. And that is why the
creators needed a special feature or room where they embrace themselves and
their fellow creators as well. So, this feature will not only empower the
creators but will also strengthen the bond among the YouTube communities.
Not to mention, YouTube
has earned much revenue since it introduced the shorts feature. Alphabet CEO
Sundar Pichai declared that YouTube shorts have crossed the mark of 50 billion
views per day. Let’s see if this latest ‘Go Live Together’ feature is improving
the careers of the creators.
